May 2011 Update

Wow what a year. We have our July 2011 School Tour heading off in 8 weeks time with Peninsula Grammar which is proving to be a very exciting tour - stay tuned for more updates on their exclusive experiences.

Centrestage Performing Arts School and Strathmore Secondary College are gearing up for their next tours in July 2012.

We have a very special Performing Arts Teacher Tour taking off in September consisting of specialist seminars looking at teaching within the Performing Arts Industry and inparticular preparing Performing Arts Students for success within this vibrant industry.

October 2010 Update

Charles and I were recently invited to attend a HAIRSPRAY at the Princess Theatre, Melbourne. June 2010 Update

We are off again!! Strathmore Seconday College and Centrestage Performing Arts School join forces to take on the Big Apple!!! This tour's shows include; NEXT to NORMAL, LEND ME A TENOR with Anthony La Paglia and Tony Shaloub, AMERICAN IDIOT – Nominated for “Best Musical” 2010 Tony Award, WEST SIDE STORY, PROMISES, PROMISES with Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and THE ADDAMS FAMILY starring two-time Tony Award^® winners Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth as Gomez and Morticia.

April/May 2009 Update

We recently returned from a very exciting April tour. The group had an amazing combination of wonderful theatre and once in a lifetime workshop and seminar experiences. They watched the likes of Tony Award winning performers , Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Cynthia Nixon, David Hyde-Pierce, John Goodman, Lili Taylor, David Straitharn, Jena Malone, Lin Manual Miranda and Bill Irwin perform in some of the best musical and non musical theatre on Broadway, ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Hair’, ‘Distracted’, ‘Waiting for Godot’, ‘Accent for Youth’, ‘In the Heights’, the Philanthropists and Planet Broadway. They participated in a costume workshop with Brad Musgrove, a dance workshop with Sean McCourt from Mary Poppins, a vocal workshop with Gavin Creel, the lead from Hair, and a marketing seminar with Scott Moore, director of marketing for numerous shows, Rent, Ave Q West Side Story and In the heights amongst others.

In LA they met with Ben Lewin , award winning film and TV director for a seminar on Hollywood and visited a number of working Studios in Hollywood, including Warner Bros and New Wave Entertainment. They met with Australian theatre and film professionals working in the USA including Kaye Tuckerman, Eilon Furstenberg, and Victoria Goldberg. They were taken on a private tour of Juilliard by Kathy Hood, head of the Drama school , as well as a seminar about Juilliard. As well as many tours of and walks through different parts of New York and Los Angeles and of course the mandatory shopping in New York We believe that the group did indeed have a trip of a lifetime.

Future tours are now being advertised, including a January 2010 New York tour for theatre professionals and Drama and Theatre teachers

Theatrica Q&A with John & Jen at Chapel Off Chapel - Sept 14th 2008
Here is another event for you to join us, to be entertained, educated and inspired while all along supporting the Theatre scene in Melbourne.
 
We will be conducting a Q&A on Sunday 14th September after the show. Please mention us (Theatrica) when booking and you will receive the group discounted ticket price of $25.00. The theme for the Q&A will be  “Bringing Broadway to Australia – how to go about bringing a Broadway/Off-Broadway show to Australia”. We take Performing Arts lovers to Broadway and beyond and now we are bringing a little bit of our Theatrica Tour experience here to Melbourne. Theatrica launches our first Mini-Experience with an "Altar Boyz Workshop". Altar Boyz come to Melbourne - Theatrica Preview Night - August 6th 2008
One of our favourite shows from New York is finally in Melbourne and we will be there to suport the Boyz on Wednesday 6th August. Theatrica UK - August 5th 2008
